diy invites

Meganrose, 10 of March of 2021 at 13:58 Posted on Planning 1 9
Hello!
Please can anyone offer any advice - we have just booked our wedding for April 2023 and I have always wanted to make my own invites. I am good at origami and have practiced some envelopes but I’m not sure where to start and what to buy... I’d love to hear from other brides that have made their own invites!
Thank you in advance!

Have a look on hobbycraft website, they helped inspire us to make our own. Not from scratch admittedly but it gave us a place to start and they sell some pretty decent not too expensive templates.

I did our save the dates recently, not sure if I’ll do the invites myself or not. Haven’t decided yet. I had a friend do a watercolour painting, designed them with adobe illustrator then bought some thick linen paper and ran them through my printer on a high quality setting. Then I just cut them myself. Fairly simple but came out great. Canva is a great free option for designing if you don’t have software!

I made my own invites! Bought a cheap glue gun off ebay, and sourced all the bits myself. Probably cost me around £100 for about 100 invites, but for the style I wanted I saved myself £300-400 ordering them from someone else. Lockdown came in handy for something!! And did all the design on Canva, so seconded there! X

Thank you! I’ll have a look on Canva! And I’ve always wanted a glue gun - I want to make little wax seals!

I got wax seals as well! And a ink stamp. I ended up not using the seals in the end but will probably use them for the wedding. Glue gun was about £7 I think. Best thing I got haha x

What is a link stamp? I’ve been looking at save the date stamps on Etsy...
