DIY Table Plans

xMissyLoux, 11 of March of 2012 at 17:03 Posted on Planning 0 12

I've had a busy afternoon, drafting up all my stationery on the computer, very excited!

For those of you who made your own table plans...

Did you make it A3 or A2?

And where did you buy your card/board from to place it all on? I have no idea where to look! I tried my old faithful ebay but unless I'm using the wrong search terms could only find bulk sales....I only want the one big, thick, sturdy piece!

Hoping you can come up trumps ladies, you always do ?

I am making my own table plan - but it will look like this:

So I won't be using card. I would say A3 is definitely too small though, A2 or A1 would be about right.

I plan to do this too. I have already purchased the mirror, what are you writing the names on with? I looked at getting it etched on... as you can imagine, it cost A LOT!!

I've used the photo frame idea. I printed the table cards separate, and stuck them inside the frame onto the board backing. Here's a pic

My frame was from The Range, a bargain @ £6.99! They also had one smaller than this, and one bigger.

For some reason they don't show everything on their website that they stock in store ? I bought mine from the shop.

I saw the perfect thing to make table plans in The Range - Hobby craft probably do something similar. Mount board in loads of colours, very thick. Not sure on the size but looked the right size for table plans. Cheap too!

I bought everything for mine from Hobbycraft. Bought a big piece of A2 white board for the back, and a piece of A2 card in lilac. I printed the tables out onto pieces of 4x6 card and cut slightly larger pieces from the lilac card to back these onto. The top table was printed landscape onto a piece of plain old A4 paper and backed in the same way. I then stuck them all onto the main board. I also bought some little bows in lilac and green to embellish.

Whole thing cost me less than a tenner and looked like this:
