I've already decided I don't want anyone doing my make-up on the day, as I'm incredibly picky and very particular with the way I do my make-up, so I'm just going to practice the look extensively to perfect it.
However, I'm worried about my hair. I've been a bridesmaid twice in recent years, and the second time I curled my hair myself (I have a lot of very fine, soft, brightly dyed hair that falls out of curls when literally anyone else does it) and then a stylist put it in a half-up style that I loved, and I'd like to try and do something similar.
I have an auntie who is a hairdresser, except several years ago she did my sister's wedding hair (gorgeous) and made a complete mess of mine. So instead of asking her, I asked my mum and sister (who is a bridesmaid) to help me practice and see if we can do something ourselves that's similar. I figure it's eight months til the wedding, there's plenty of time to practice and trial it.
My mum seemed up for the idea, but my sister struggles with anxiety and seems to be worrying about it going wrong on the day even if it's fine when we practice. Should I try to reassure her, or am I asking too much? Should I just try to find a stylist to do it for me?
I live in the south, and am getting married at Loch Lomond, so to go up for a trial with a hairdresser local to the venue would cost me a small fortune, and maybe three days of my time as I try to travel there and back. Unless it's absolutely necessary I'd really prefer not to.
Any advice or opinions would be appreciated!
