Do i need a wedding planner?

Ceri, 8 September, 2024 at 09:05 Posted on Planning 0 3
I am getting married June 2025, I have already picked a venue, have a dress and I have an idea of the colour scheme as well as being in contact with a few photographers.
Do I realistically need a wedding planner?
Does anyone know the percentage of people who have wedding planners?

I'm not having a planner. Our venue has a co-ordinator and a master of ceremony and I really haven't found planning everything difficult so far. I think so long as you have a day of co-ordinator from your venue to manage your timeline I feel like a planner is just added expense!

I'd recommend the wedding planner journal from martha brook as it has prompts to help you plan and you fill it in as you go with all your budget, your vendors, timeline all that stuff :-)

Hi. I’m having a Day of Coordinator. Yes our venue has a wedding coordinator, but what most people ignore is that the venue coordinator only do the things related to the venue and only sees for the venue requirements and their interests. If you have multiple vendors, need some tasks completed, want to include specific projects or items, have family heirlooms to add, etc. you need someone on your side to be you while you’re the bride.
I would recommend getting a Day Coordinator that works for you, not the venue. Someone to keep track of all your vendors, day plan, music lists, wrangles people for your photos, takes care of last minute things and handles any emergencies. Someone to check the setup is made according to your plan, that all vendors know their time line and arrive on time. Someone to take over communications the las few weeks before the wedding. Well at least that’s my point of view, that’s why I got a Day Coordinator.
