Do supermarkets still give away cardboard boxes?

Where do you live? I have squillions in the loft (Manchester) if you want them

Last time we moved we rang around storage places, the prices of boxes differed drastically, can't remember what we paid in the end but it wasn't much considering.

    Yes, they do.

My SD was telling me at the weekend that she gets them from Sainsbury's. She uses them to make dolls houses.

I would imagine that the larger ones do. I got most of mine from our post room at work, they saved them all for me!

It's also worth asking restaurants and bars too if you can't get enough through the supermarket.

Thanks guys, literally just mentioned it to our building maintenance man and he took me outside to a crate that was full of boxes for recycling! BINGO! Said I could help myself whenever I need more!

I used to work in a clothes shop and after deliveries we would give away the boxes to anyone that needed them. It's never worth paying for them - there are always shops that are happy to get rid of them.

Glad you got some Smiley smile

Just thought I would say I work part time in a supermarket and we don't let customers have our boxes. No idea why but we get asked quite a lot and always have to say no.

The supermarket I work in love giving boxes away! If a customer sees a box they want, they help themselves (saves them buying bloody carrier bags too)!

I don't know if you have those klix coffee machines at work but the boxes the cups come in are awesome for moving. The canteen saved us loads when we moved.
