Do we need ushers?!

Lauren, 22 of July of 2024 at 16:14 Posted on Planning 0 4

My partner has chosen 5 groomsmen but now I'm worried about having to pick ushers as well? Would you recommend picking two ushers for the big day?

They all do the same thing really so you can either call them all ushers or groomsmen but the term ushers tend to be used more often at a Church ceremony rather than a "venue" ceremony where they are more commonly referred to as groomsmen instead.

I didn't have any ushers for my first wedding and won't be having any this time round either. I never really saw the point in them!

They can be a way for the groom to give "rolls" for close friends and or family in much the same way as bridesmaids for the bride.

If you already have 5 groomsmen, you might not need additional ushers just have them double up on duties to keep things simple.
