Do you say Rant as in aunt or rant as in ant?

    I say aunt as in ant!

    Never heard rant as anything but rhyming with ant.

    I have never heard Rant said in any other way other than Ant?

    I do say Aunt as in Arrrnt

    Eh? Who says "rant" to rhyme with "taunt"?

    I say "auntie", not "aunt", and it rhymes with "Aren't we".

    I'm confused.

    Does the OP mean how do we say "aunt" ? ... because there is only one pronunciation of "rant" but there's a north/south divide of "aunt"..

    I used to say arrtny and arrnt because I was born in Kent. But then moved to South Shields at 5 and forced myself to talk like the natives, so-to-speak. Had just about mastered it when we moved back down south for a year at age 7. Again adapted my accent then adapted it again when we moved back up north!
