Doctor's Uniform-Navy/RAF?

Silver Stilettos, 20 May, 2008 at 16:41 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 6

I had a hospital appointment today. The House Officer was wearing dark trousers (navy blue, possibly black) and had a light blue/grey short sleeved shirt on. The shirt had epulauts, although they were the same pale blue/grey colour of the shirt. My first thought was 'RAF Doctor' although my OH insists that he was a Royal Marine doctor (I did see a RM on his ID badge followed by a surname, although not sure if that was his initials or does it stand for Royal Marine?) To confuse matters, this is a hospital in a naval town, and I know they have lots of the Navy doctors working at this hospital.

Any ideas which forces this uniform would belong to (am now kicking myself that I didn't just ask!)

When I had a collapsed lung I was treated by several very yummy Navy Nurses at the QA in Portsmouth. [wistful smile]

Hmm, yes. I think I forgot to mention how yummy this one was. Think that's why I didnt look at his id badge properly!

The Royal Navy Medical Service wear blue/grey shirts, so seeing as you are in a naval town it was probably a Navy doctor. I'm not sure The Royal marines have a medical service as such, wouldn't they be treated by the Navy medical service?

Did he have RNMS anywhere, or were you too busy lusting to see ?

Ah, so he was a Royal Marine. Thank you for the replies.

I may have been ever so slightly distracted by how lovely looking he was!
