Does anyone believe in the magpie thing?

I'm more superstitious than anyone I know so yes I believe it and spend large amounts of time saluting single magpies and chanting "good morning/afternoon Mr Magpie, how's your wife and children" and generally making a fool of myself!

It's a misnomer, the reason it's 'one for sorrow' isn't related to human sorrow, it relates to the magpie itself. Magpies mate for life and so if you see one by itself the sorrow refers to the fact that it may have lost it's mate - hence two for joy!

Im not usually a superstitious person but for some reason I cant resist a sneaky salute when I see magpies. Its just something thats stuck with me since the school playground.

My Mum does that. If there are 6 sitting together, she will salute each one.

She even did it during her driving test, and passed ?

It's my one and only supersition! No idea why but I can't see a single magpie without saluting ?

Its my one and only superstition as well.... weird cos I am not usually bothered by any of that type of thing... but 1 magpie really makes me feel uncomfy and wonder what bad will happen...
