Does anyone else feel ridiculously annoying when questioning/correcting suppliers?

AmesLou, 12 February, 2023 at 17:56 Posted on Planning 0 2

I should start by saying that none of my suppliers have done anything to make me think I am being annoying (yet)! - It's just a me problem!

As we get into having more detailed conversations with suppliers, I'm finding things that I need to question are cropping up more. I mean things like price changes with no apparent explanation, conflicting information on specifications for certain services (e.g. where changes have been made and the new description has been written down, but the old description has also been left on the proposal, potentially causing confusion).

I just HATE going back to them and questioning this stuff! I know there's a massive difference between being a difficult customer and legitimately questioning things, and people are more than happy tro clarify, but I can't help but procrastinate those emails where I need to ask for clarification!

There are a lot of details when it comes to a wedding, especially when suppliers are providing a big service like the catering, and when it's an event that you're so emotionally invested it, and have usually paid a lot of money for. I'm sure all the people you are dealing with are used to it, and as long as you are polite when you make your enquiries I wouldn't worry. They are bound to have dealt with more difficult people! I share your concern sometimes (not wanting to bother people or make a fuss) and then I remembered I am paying a lot of money for a service so it's fine for me to clarify things and ask as many questions as I need to to feel satisfied!

It just sounds to me like you are 100% on the ball when it comes to double checking and crossing the T's and doting the eyes (not many people are ). To a supplier there should be no such thing as a difficult costumer and if you are made to feel that you are being difficult then I would suggest that they are not the supplier for you.

I know that you have said that you have not had any issues with your suppliers.

I have been photographing weddings for over 25 years and I can still make mistakes in my communications and | have nothing but thanks for my couples who point out my mistakes.

I say -- you carry one as you are.
