I am and yes I think so too. The dress she tried on is lovely but the one he looked at was gorgeous.
Someone at work said a good thing today, if you have set ideas, and dont trust anyone else to get you what you want, then why go on this sort of programme?
Mind you, he should have looked in her ideas book, before throwing it in the bin
I think the dress she tried on was more evening ball gown than bridal. I would let my h2b take control of our wedding cos I do trust him. I think she will hate the pub, although the place she liked was far too expensive.
I cry every time I watch that programme and during every wedding clip I've watched on the internet (looking for videographer!). Aw, tonight's was really good, loved the bodice on the dress he picked for her, think he did a great job. And she was so much nicer than last week's bridezilla!
Since hearing about this programme from the ladies on here I have become addicted to it. I know my h2b wouldn't know where to start! I definately cried at the end when they played the recording of her singing, especially when they showed her dad in floods, I thought that was so sweet.
I was surprised that she loved all the stuff that he chose - mind you - id love my H2B just for going to all the effort for me - even if it wasn't what i would have chosen. It isn't all about the colours and venues - its about the 2 people getting married x
I am getting married at the Ye olde Bell and to be honest now I can see ho TV editing can totally change the way things look. That was filmed last year in march, and there is no way it is a pub as theywere trying to make out. The room is lovely, but the best bit is the massive garden areas with pavilion. We are getting married out there weather permiting and having a BBQ reception. Also the hotel bedrooms are lovely but they were not shown ether.
The programme all the way through just wanted to make it more interesting by making people think she was going to hate. Anyway in the end I did find the programme useful and cried at the end as well, I also went to school with the bride.
It was the first time I have ever watched the programme and I thought it was really good. I am pleased she liked all he did, I thought he did a great job. I cried like a baby at the end!! xx
It was the first time for me too. My h2b moaned at first cos I wanted to watch it. But at the end said he really enjoyed it. SO looks like I get to see it again next week!
My H2B enjoyed it too!!!! Although he did get sick of me getting angry at the girl. The bit where she was at the Wedding Show and crying over chair covers - hel-lo - don't torture yourself love!!!! But I guess it made good telly.
I thought her H2B was lovely. ? Not as lovely as mine though....?
I lurve DTB it is my fave programme. I thought Holly was gorgeous, although she seemed ungrateful at the start by the end of the show I really warmed to her and her H2B was very handsome, I also really liked the reception room at the Venue - it looked so perfect when it was all set up.
I have to say I really didnt like her bouquet, I dont think it matched the BM dresses, not that it mattered really. She was very lucky to have such a lovely CBM - she really was so thoughtful. Did anyone see her on the hen night " It's my wedding f*ck off, they are filming me not you!!" It's amazing what drink can do to a lady.
Do you know that there is a TV channel called the wedding channel? When I was on holiday in France I accidentally found it! It has programmes like this on ALL day EVERY day.....heaven!!
I agree. We filmed a wedding last year at Ye Olde Bell (click here if you're curious). The way the BBC portrayed it, really didn't do it any justice. It's not a pub, it's a hotel. The bridal suite in it is gorgeous. They showed some dirty and broken windows, but these aren't on the main building where any of guests come. True it's not the Four Seasons, but it's cute little hotel with great service.
All I kept thinking was 'what if her priest saw her now'! ?
Ooo I discovered that one saturday. There is a similar programme but American, where all the family seem to get involved in the planning. And the one where 2 couples plan each others wedding.
Zippy - Seriously there was one episode of the American show where the friends and family arranged a PIRATE themed wedding! On one of the interviews with the prospective husband and wife the wife2B walked out and told them to get lost, cos she was going mental with worry about what the family were doing to her wedding. She was a total bridezilla, and she couldn't cope with not being in control. I felt very sorry for her. In the end she loved her dress and the theme!
Theres also another American show where they follow the brides throughout planning, the funniest one I saw was when one bride was getting her hair done on the morning of the wedding and they hadn't quoted the right price for hair and make up, so when it came to pay the bill she argued with the manager for soo long and then gave a very long sob story, it was so cringeworthy - after all this she made them redo her eye make up as it wasnt dark enough...she was a one scary lady, If that was me I would ask my CBM to deal with it - on the morning of your wedding you do not need stress like that!
We looked at Ye Olde Bell and totally agree with Sh7583 its an old coaching inn with a hotel feel. Its a really lovely venue with beautiful gardens and lovely bedrooms (my Dad installed the tellies in the bedrooms!!!). The only reason we didn't go for it was that the rooms were either too big or too small for our 40 guestsa and the location wasn't really convenient for anyone (as in mine or H2Bs family)
Just got me thinking...... Did anyone see the one around 2 wks ago when the bride wanted a dress with built in hot pants ?
I kid you not,she ended up with jordan style dress and carriage ohhh not to mention the hellicopter then she fell asleep in her room and no one knew where she was ? Oooooh i ❤️ a good knees up !!!!
I've watched the last 2 episodes with H2B (watched the others on my own, but he was home when it came on last week) and we BOTH cried at both of them, (mainly when it came to the vows part) Even though we both thought last week's was a bridezilla. Each time we've watched he's said "why are all these brides such stuck-up bitches!" Ooer. I've been reminding him how lucky he's been with me so far!
I completely agree about editing this show - a couple of weeks ago they said the groom was trying to convince the brother to come from Australia, and when you actually heard them talking they were finalising details - seemed to me that was already planned as a surprise for the bride! Also, I always roll my eyes at them going round the shops picking out their perfect dress/ring/chair covers, but I think it must be part of the contract, because really, who would pick their perfect dress then sob in it because they can't have it??
It was very sweet, although I don't think she really got the breakdancers ... she looked completely bemused at the end!
I still watch it and just end up getting really angry with the b2b. They are all pretty much spoilt little brats who say they want this, this and this... blah blah blah. At the end of the day, if they wanted those things they can fork out for it like everyone else! They are getting a free wedding, and everyone who goes on it knows what the deal is.
I said to my H that if you were that certain you wanted a particular thing, you would have talked about it, I cant honestly believe that couples would go on there having not discussed what would be the ultimate nightmare etc. I talked everything through with my H when we started out looking from what colours we both liked, to cakes, entertainment etc. Ok, so I wouldnt have trusted him to choose me a dress, but then if I had applied for that show I wouldnt flipping well go out trying on dresses either!
I think the worst recent one was where they went to Amsterdam for the stag night and had a private little porn show!!!- what a complete waste of money and selfish of the groom and the stags - and then after the wedding, the bride is gushing about all he did for her, I was just sitting there thinking 'oh just you wait til you watch this back!!!!'
Totally agree,Iget so annoyed with them h2b just laughs at me.Worse are the ones who are going oh hes not going to do this or that right.
1.You are marrying a man who you love i personally dont need all the trappngs just as long as we both happy and both there i couldnt give a crap
2.If he knows anything about you hed get most of it right so why worry?I know for a fact that my h2b wouldnt dream of organising a wedding for me that involved a sit down meal as he knows i wouldnt be comfortable. Its called commuincation.
H2b is aware of most of the ideas i have but i dont tell him all of them as id like it to be a bit of a surprise for him.
