Dress code : 'Party Chic' Does anyone know what that is?

Smiley, 23 January, 2009 at 20:19 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

MrS has been invited to a works do in a posh hotel, and the invitation says Party Chic.

I have googled (and found a few bizarre websites ?) but i cant find anything that says what that is.

Does anyone know?

I don't know, but my first thoughts would be to dress like you would at a work christmas party in a posh hotel. But not as fancy as dressing for a weddng in a posh hotel.

iyswim from the above ramble ?

I'd say shirt and trousers (no tie).

Gleneagles - lucky him. OH's not invited?

I read this and thought 'that's the type of answer I'd give', then re read as I thought the icon was Chickens. Sorry Maxi, they are very similar! I re read as i thought there was no way that A) Chicken would reply to this and B) IF she did it would be sarky.

I would go for smart, but not evening dress. So jacket and tie, he can always lose the tie.

A few folk have said that before. It must be the grass background that does it.

I don't think i'm doing Chicken's reputation on here much good with my dull responses ?

Chicken, I assumed the dig was at this post rather than you !

Thank you, party chic to me sounds like whoever was making up the tickets thought they would be smart and come up with their own terminology. Glad I am not invited [sour grapes]
