nickynukitty, 23 June, 2008 at 20:49 Posted on Planning 0 12

Need some advise really if anything could be done or I just need to tone up my arms!!haha

Have found "the dress" Maggie sottero adelaide, it has crystals and beads on the front that follow through to the back, when I was trying the dress on it did start to rub under my arms!! I know on the day after a couple of hours I think it will get a bit sore and iot will annoy me!! anyone got any ideas on what could be done to stop the rubbing!!

Let me know how you get on, as I'm having Maggie Sotetero's Adelaide aswell. Didn't try on sample as dress was tiny! Love the beading, very sparkly! Will be ordering in November. I'm going for light gold, what about you?

Could a bit of fabric be sewn on the inside of the dress? Is it rubbing because of the boning or because of the sparkly bits? Could the dress be let out a bit so it's a bit looser under the arms?

I am going for the light gold as well, The dress is lovely. I saw it on the internet a few months ago, tried others on but soon as I put that on that was it! I went to my brothers wedding last Saturday and my SIL was wearing a maggie (not ours) and she had the same problem, by the end of the night her under arms were red raw!!

I have the same problem but am having some of the beads removed. My shop said they do it all the time. There is no way I can handle the beads staying and no one will notice.

Its the sparkly bits that rub, not sure if been a bit looser will make any difference to the rubbing, Might have to resort to clear plasters and stick them over the sparkly bits haha

Oh dear, I love the dress too much and looks like I'll have red arms (v. sexy on wedding night!). Was going to look at Maggie's Michelle dress first, but the Adelaide is a replacement for this style. It is gorgeous and fell in love with the dress straight away. Going to lose more weight before ordering in Nov/Dec as wedding isn't until next August. I've got my pale gold sparkly veil already, so I hope I'm still in love with the dress when I order it. Maggie's are so well made, the bone work on the bodice made me look like I'd actually got a waistline, so I think they are fab dresses! Have you ordered yours yet nickynukitty?

Snap! my skin on the underside of my arms is going to be redraw for the same reason....hoping all the champagne will numb the pain! nothing i can do as all the beading is so intricate. i'll look back and laugh but after i've had the skin grafting done!

A lot of people have some beads removed under the arms. I think its a common problem.

My mom is buying my dress, she has paid a deposit on it but have not ordered it yet, still trying to decide on date and venue for next year. Once all that has been done will then get them to order it.. I am not sure if I am going to wear a veil as I have not seen any in that colour, can I ask where you got yours from?

I have bought Michelle and got so wrapped up in the dress i didn't think about the rub factor. Needless to say I don't know what to do!!!! Gym here I come or start wielding 2 lt bottles of water aropund every night between now and November 1st to tighten my bingo wings!!!! Adelaide is beautiful too - I keep mistaking it for michelle! I have mine in diamond white and have gone for a full length veil. Might as well go for it eh?!

You shouldn't need to suffer red arms (and painful arms) as Im sure some beading can be removed. My dress has extremely intricate beading so I think if mine can be removed yours can to.

Hi nickynukitty, I got my pale gold veil from ebay, can't believe how expensive veils can be! I'm getting my tiara made with swarovski crystals and pale gold pearls too.
