Dress too short at front, can anyone recommend a hoop?

Vicki2015, 13 October, 2015 at 16:42 Posted on Planning 0 1

I had my final fitting for my dress at the weekend and sadly the seamstress has taken too much off it Smiley sad It's not too bad, just about 2 inches too short (she took 6 off instead of the agreed 4) and I'm trying to think of a way to make it look a little better. I really love my shoes, they were a very expensive gift so I really don't want to change them to flats.

I was wondering about hoops - the hoop I have for my dress is quite big - both at the front and the back. Does anyone know if I can get a hoop that just goes a little out at the front and bigger at the back?

I hope that makes sense! I don't even know if such a thing exists X

You can get train petticoats that keep the train in shape with varying numbers of hoops depending on how big the train is. Like this...

That was just a quick google search - I'm sure there are other places to get them from. Is that the sort of thing you are looking for?

The other option I thought about is if you have a colour theme get your seamstress to add a layer underneath in maybe a subtle shade of one of your colours that peeks out of the bottom and takes the length down a couple of inches? x

Thats the sort of thing I'm looking for, thanks! The dress shop I bought my dress from loan them out but they only have 2 sizes, hopefully I can get one online delivered in time.

My wedding is next week so I really don't want her doing anything else to my dress in case it looks worse. Worse case scenario I just wear flats so its not too bad. It has layers of tulle to so I'm not sure we could put anything under it.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated X
