Dress too small - 6 days!!!!!!!!!! to go

KLM, 21 July, 2008 at 00:05 Posted on Planning 0 5

Went for final dress fitting on Saturday, last time I went my dress was too big but looked great and just needed taking up and a little in at the boobs..... I ate a couple of chineses and was a little naughty and now does not FIT.... i cried like a baby.....

When we went for the dress fitting origninally she said that the laces at the back of my dress should be open more but me and my mum did not want that, but she was insistant and said she would take the sides in WE SAID 'NO' but it appears that they have done this... they had not touched the lenghth at all from what i could tell, also they cut the laces to lace my dress up when we where previously in so it would not lace up at all and she tried to tell my mum that you don't lace everyone you lace every other, My mum was great (i have put on about 7lbs) but all my clothes (16) still fit and the wedding dress is a size 20 (i know wedding dresses are different, but still)

So they are taking back to standard and just altering the lenghth.

My dad is furious and coming with us on wednesday, I am trying not too eat, but also due on my period (water retention is huge also)

I am so scared, i felt awful in my dress

? Deep breath and dont panic.

Firstly I cant see how you are a size 16 and the dress is 20 and now it does not fit. Maybe they have taken the sides in too much. Maybe you could ask them to put a panel in to save more cutting.

Im bemused at the " lace everyother one".

Good luck for when you go back.

Good lucj when you try it on again!

Don't go down the road of not eating as you will crack at some point - just eat healthy food and exercise (I know its only 6 days away but you don't want to spoil your hard work now)

I would suggest eating normally and taking water retention tablets - I'm very good at retaining water but a week of those and I'll lose and inch or two...

    good luck!!

Is it a corset back? How much too small across the back is it?Lace every other hole?

Sorry for all the questions but all my corsets are laced through every eyelet. You can get more lacing which is easy,I wouldn't have cut the lacing untll the morning you are in the dress, and if it is that you don't want an open back can she not make you a modesty panel for the back?If it is just the lacing it shouldn't be too hard to resolve.

Good luck for when you go and try it on again.

Don't feel too down and you must eat or you'll make yourself ill.

I'm sure everything will be fine and they'll be able to sort your dress out for you.

I've got my first fitting tomorrow night but i'm dreading it, my dress zips up just about but it's really tight and so i'm hoping that there's enough material in the seams to let the zip out a little bit.
