Dressing as a schoolgirl without looking like School Disco help please

If you're supposed to be Hermione Granger could you wear a cape and a witches hat too? Otherwise I'm not convinced there's a way to dress like a non-sluttish schoolgirl (unless you wear my old school uniform which it's totally impossible to look remotely sexy in).

I would go with the boots. Not worth forking out for horrid shoes when you'll never wear them again. Are you wearing black tights? That could help with the not looking too slutty thing. Apart from that there doesn't appear to be much you can do that you haven't tried. I think most thirty something women (you are 30 aren't you? I'm sure I remember you turning 30 recently <sweats profusely at thought of upsetting you further> who dress in school uniform are inevitably going to look a certain way - embrace it - Hermione's definitely the type to be a bit of a goer on the sly anyway ?

Second the cape suggestion. Could you buy a pair of black Converse? They're cheap and really useful - you'd def wear them again.

Black tights are a good idea- at the moment I have flesh colour between boots and short skirt- bare legs are probably authentic but definitely look a bit sleezy on me.

Surely with a tie on the top button of the shirt has to be done up? or it looks silly.
