Dry hire / own caterer venue SE UK

katlake4, 7 July, 2014 at 08:30 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi guys, I am struggling a great deal to find a self catered/dry hire venue.

my fisnce and his family are all South African and I have found a great South African caterer to do our food. However I can't find a suitable venue. The ones I have found have either been very expensive or don't allow outside caterers unless you pay another £2000 on the hire fee. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

we live near windsor but willing to travel a couple of hours if needed.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Katherine

Some friends of ours got married last year and had their reception here http://barcombevillagehall.org.uk/rooms/ they paid a lot to have it dressed but they used their own caterers and provided their own booze

just found this online- this is my friends wedding http://www.bowshire.co.uk/venues/venuedetails/sussex/barcombehall/index.php

    Hiya Katherine,

We have booked dry hire at our venue as we are having Asian catering. Im not sure what day of the week you were looking at having your wedding, but we have just paid £3,500 for a Monday in May 2016 at http://www.threeriversweddingvenueinessex.co.uk/index.php. You get full exclusive use, there are 3 rooms - 1 for civil ceremony, and 2 that seat 200+ for wedding breakfast. They supply tables and up to 300 chairs, and you bring everything else!

They are in Purleigh, Essex so im not sure if this is too far for you or not.

The town halls in london are pretty good for this - hackney town hall, stoke newington town hall, the old finsbury town hall, the portchester, the Amadeus - we looked at these and most, if not all, were really reasonable!
