Hi all! We've just got engaged and are at the very early planning stages. We're looking at a few venues that are dry-hire e.g. a marquee in a field and a marquee next to a village hall and I'd love to get advice on the bar. We'd love to be able to offer drinks for most of the day and perhaps operate a (cheap) paid bar from a certain time, partly to save a little money but also to limit how drunk people get!
Do you know if it's possible to buy in lots of alcohol and then hire bar staff to provide glasswear and serve this to guests for free before, during and for a certain period after the meal, and then, from a certain time in the evening, to charge (low prices), perhaps with this money coming back to you and you paying the bartenders for their services?
Would love to know any tips or hear what others have done!
