Dubai and Maldives

Hi

We are looking to go to Dubai and Maldives for our honeymoon. We need affordable luxury as I am a teacher and we have to travel in school holidays which pushes up the price drastically!

Can anyone recommend a nice Maldives hotel which won't totally break the bank?

We have been looking at Sri lanka combined with the Maldives and have looked with Kuoni. We are looking at staying at the Kurumba hotel, for 6 days after Sri lanka. If you have a Kuoni near you I advise popping in or call them if not as they can get extra nights etc for honeymoon and they have loads of hotels in their brochure that all look amazing! The biyadohoo hotel looks amazing too and looks a bit cheaper from the guide price but that's another one we have in our brochure as well as Meeru Island resort and spa

    Hi there!

We go on honeymoon this Sunday to Dubai and the Maldives and did LOADS of research into this...

Maldives are islands not hotels... so one island is one resort.... Kurumba is great but is very close to the airport so you can see planes coming and going if you dont mind that... we are staying at Kuramathi which is amazing and the accomodation is top notch as well as lots of restaurants. I found the price to be good and you can go normal all inclusive or a la carte to dine in their other restaurants. For a cheaper option but just as nice I would say look at Reethi beach... this island looks amazing too and has brilliant reviews on trip advisor!!

Others we looked at are Kuredu, (no house reef though!) and vilamendhoo ?

For a honeymoon combining Dubai and the Maldives on a budget, consider staying at resorts like Reethi Faru, Fihalhohi Island Resort, or Sun Siyam Olhuveli in the Maldives — all offering affordable luxury without compromising too much on experience. In Dubai, you can enjoy city glamor on a budget by staying in areas like Al Barsha or Business Bay. Since you’re traveling during school holidays when prices surge, booking early and looking for package deals can help save costs. Just like knowing Al Quoz to Sharjah Rolla bus timings helps in planning your day efficiently, being flexible with your Maldives resort choice and travel dates can help you enjoy a luxurious honeymoon without overspending.

My husband and I also faced a similar choice - we wanted to have an unforgettable vacation, but without huge expenses. In the Maldives, we found a cozy hotel with excellent service at a very reasonable price - there was no unnecessary pretentiousness, but a feeling of romance and comfort was created at every step: the cleanest beach, friendly staff and the opportunity to enjoy privacy. For us, this was a real find, because the vacation was not only beautiful, but also affordable. And to add even more impressions, we made a stop in Dubai and rented a yacht through the CharterClick service. It was our brightest day - a walk along the Persian Gulf, stunning views of skyscrapers and a feeling of real luxury. Moreover, yacht leasing in Dubai https://charterclick.com/ turned out to be quite affordable, especially if you split the costs between several couples. So I can advise combining both destinations: the Maldives for romance and tranquility, and Dubai with a yacht - for vivid emotions and luxurious photos.

If you’re planning a honeymoon to both Dubai and the Maldives, a good way to balance luxury and affordability is to mix your stays. In the Maldives, you don’t always have to go for the ultra-expensive overwater villas. Resorts like Sun Siyam Olhuveli or Kuramathi Maldives offer really nice villas, some even with water access, but at a much better price point compared to the big luxury chains. Another option is splitting your stay—do a few nights in a beach villa (cheaper) and then 1–2 nights in an overwater villa for the full Maldives experience without breaking the bank.

Since you’ll also be in Dubai, I’d recommend making that part of the trip extra memorable. Dubai offers a lot of premium-but-affordable experiences, and if you’re planning to rent a car, definitely look at the BYD HAN EV. I came across an article on the Top 5 Features That Make the BYD HAN EV a Premium Rental Choice , and it made sense why it’s becoming popular for honeymooners and couples—it’s sleek, eco-friendly, spacious, and feels premium without costing as much as some of the traditional luxury cars in Dubai. Perfect if you want to get around in style and comfort while staying within budget.

So overall, Maldives for the calm, romantic vibe, and Dubai for modern luxury and adventure. With a smart hotel choice and something like the BYD HAN EV in Dubai, you’ll get that mix of affordable luxury you’re after.
