Essex Brides

Hi another essex bride here. Im getting married aug 15 at friern manor in dunton. Pretty organised, I think we have most suppliers all reserved...now just tryin to save up to pay them!! X

We looked at Friern Manor, it's lovely. You must be so excited! Can I ask who you are using for your flowers? We are meeting four florists on Saturday it's all such fun booking until you actually have to pay. What's your dress like? Feel free to flash away

Hello ladies.

I am getting married at Gaynes Park, Epping in July this year.

I currently live in Australia so have had to arrange everything form here which hasn't been easy but then we arrive home in 2 weeks so I get to be at home for the final preparations...so excited!

Ive still got to find jewellery for myself and bridesmaids, shoes for bridesmaids, order cake and create table plan, name cards and table decor! Oh and decide on music for the ceremony and wedding breakfast....not much then!

Who are you using for your hair and make-upf you are having it done?!

Hi Natalielouise! Whereabouts in Australia are you? Me and OH spent a year travelling out there and we loved it. We currently live in Manchester but are originally from London which is why we are tying the knot in Essex, I thought that was tricky enough let alone doing it from the other side of the world!

Your plans sound at a similar stage to mine except we have our cake. I cannot find any shoes for the life of me!

I am using Vanessa Wedding Hair & Make Up. I've had my trial and was very pleased and she is lovely

What a great weekend to get married I'm sure June won't be too late, you'll still have plenty of time.

i haven't met with any florists yet but I would expect to see pictures. Do you know why they haven't sent you any?

Hi, we have been living in Adelaide for the past 16 months but it's time to come home now.

I have really struggled to find shoes here (the shopping is dreadful) but did find some but now I know I'm coming back to the UK I may continue to look at home! Never have enough shoes ?

We had a holiday in England at Christmas and didn't find any bridesmaid dresses (it was all winter stuff) but my bridesmaids recently found some and so bought them...I trust them and they look lovely so fingers crossed! It has been tricky though...lots of Skype, emails and pictures being exchanged!

Im using Gail Gardner after a not so good hair and make up trial with somebody else.

Any ideas on where to look for jewellery?

Hey im using vanessa hair and make up as well!! Shes lovely isnt she ;-) ive had my trial already and bridesmaid will have theirs nxt year. I found her her so lovely and prices were good too. I love gaynes my partners cousin got married there last year it was beautiful.

with regards to florists, I met the lady we r using at a wedding fayre. She is based in corringham and it's called bella flowers. I found her so helpful and said I didnt wanna spend a fortune. We went through what I wanted and she suggested things I could do to cut cost and ive endes up with what I wanted for under budget lolx

I am getting married at The Barn Brasserie in Great Tey in September - so exciting!!

I am using a lady called Claire to do my flowers - she is freelance but has a website, I think it is Claires flowers for you or something like that. She seems very accomodating - I have given her my requirements & budget & she is working with me to meet it. For me I am more concerned about tones & shades than particular flowers but each to their own!

I have a company called Ruche doing my hair & makeup as a couple of friends I know have used them & looked absolutely lovely on their big days

I'm an Essex bride!

Getting married on 15th August at Wivenhoe House.

Pretty much everything has been booked or brought now... everything except the cake! No idea what im doing about it yet, just that i refuse to pay over £100 for a cake!

Ive been really lucky with hair and makeup, my BIL2b is a hairdresser so he'll be doing that and my sisters friend has started her own makeup business so she'll be doing that.

I'm sure theres a million other things to do and pay for but right now I feel pretty organised!

Hi kyleighb. I felt thr same about the cake. I met a lady from the cake collectuon, she is based in great stambridge near southend. She is the recommended cake supplier for my venue. Anyway, she offers a bride on a budget cake think its about 110 for 3 tiers or something like 85 for two tier. Its really deep and iced all u need to do is decorate it with a ribbon or get ure florist to add flowers. Really good option. We ended up goin for cupcakes and one tier cake at the top. But she is really reasonable and the cakes taste delicious. Couldnt recommend her enough and doesnt have to cost a fortune xx

Ah i'm a tad jealous of all you Essex brides now!

We've both lived (& worked) on Essex all our lives but are getting married in Kent- which is lovely, but most of the suppliers we know are Essex based.

If anyone needs recommendations for anything, let me know- we've been lucky enough to work with lots of fab people over the years.

i really like the Jon Richard range at Debenhams, they have some pretty stuff at reasonable prices, although I've been looking more extensively at the hair combs

I love Etsy but it can be pricy - an half the time they don't even ship to the UK! I quite like the Jon Richard range at Debenhams.

It's so great that your florist is coming in under budget. I really want tall centrepieces full of flowers and am hoping I can find a way to make them work on my budget (although under would be better!)

My trial is on 7th June for hair & make up but like I say I am pretty confident seeing previous work they have done.

Not until 9th aug 2015. When I saw her prices and pictures I booked my trial. My bridesmaids have theirs nxt year. So good to see someone else on here using her x
