Etsy flowers

Zara, 20 January, 2022 at 13:54 Posted on Planning 0 8
Hello,

I love these dried flowers from Etsy, I have all what I need in the basket. But the site mentions to order 3 months before, I get married in September so I don't need to order them yet.
Has anyone ordered flowers from etsy before? I'm worried about paying a large amount for something I haven't seen in person. Perhaps if they take credit card then the payment is insured.

Is there the option to contact the seller underneath? Perhaps if u explain they're not needed until then they will be happy to wait and u can just send a reminder at 3 months before. They may even like the extra time. Or if not just find out the best way to keep them stored at home?

What's your recommendation for a low cost wedding? I'm trying to keep the cost of the wedding down and I know it's very expressive in painswick Gloucestershire, but what if I provide food for everyone attending the wedding? my fionce doesn't have a kitchen at the moment due to restoration, what can I really do to keep things low cost wise any ideas?

Hi Louise, I have contacted the seller by email and they git back to me within the hour. They suggested ordering just a flower girl bunch so that I can see the flowers in real life then make the full order if happy. They can be stored at home in a dark cool place. Thanks for your reply.

I am putting together my own centrepieces to save some money and having only close family and friends (65 guests) no extra guests at night. Try sites on Facebook etc where people are selling their decorations from their weddings. X

Hi Jessica, I have just came across your comment on this discussion and thought I might be able to share you some of the low cost ideas we have opted for and what we have done to ensure we have the best day.

First of all we looked at all local venues and created a spreadsheet with all local venues on, got quoted prices for what we liked. We chose the cheapest venue (ironically our favourite) Then we looked at the food options avaialble at the venue for weddings. Most venues let you alter and create your own food ideas. We have opted for an Afternoon Tea wedding breakfast, so instead of paying 60-90 pound per person for food we have got afternoon tea for 19pound per person which is a large saving. We have still opted for the wine package however went for the basic option as most people will buy there own drinks. We then selected to have no canapes during the time between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast as this is all extra cost. For evening buffet we have chosen yet again the cheapest option of an itallian buffet which is available from our venue. If you have not booked a venue yet, keep an eye out for open days as most venues offer a discount to those who book on an open day but I would recommend comparing all local venues first so you can choose your favourite and know how much your going to be paying. Some venues include DJS in there price also, its definitly worth asking for the venues wedding brouchres to see what is included in the packages.

If you are wanting to have a ceremony in a church or registry office, this is normally cheaper than a wedding venue. Then you could have a big party afterwards, could hire in a local caterer to do a finger buffet or you could do this yourself with help of friends and family iceland do some really good party food! You could even do a afternoon tea style buffet, with sandwiches, scones, sweet treats and pies.

The second thing we prioritised was a photographer, which can be pricey however we thought it was worth paying for as photos last a life time and hold memories. I would definitly get quotes off different local photographers to see who has the best option, look at the different styles of photographs etc see what you and your fiancee like.

We are hoping to make our own wedding favours to cut down on costs, we are looking at making either home made soaps or candles. We don't get married to march 2023 so this year everyone is getting gifted home made candles and soaps to see which ones they prefer.

Table decorations we are also making ourselfs, and using artifical flowers as this is so much cheaper than using a florist. The range, hobby craft and other craft stores have some good buys for weddings which are reasonably priced. Also look on ebay, facebook market place and amazon for other items.

At the end of the day, all that matters for the wedding is that you and your fiance are happy and enjoy your day! Hope this helps you with budgeting and wedding planning. I am still struggling with planning myself, but so far this is where we are at. xx
