Evening and day guests

Antony, 28 March, 2023 at 16:39 Posted on Planning 1 4

Probably being really thick here! We have invited everyone at the ceremony to the evening as well on the guest list. Does that mean they all get a ceremony invite and an evening invite as well! Don't want that to happen obviously so should we just have a ceremony list and invite them to the evening. Hope that makes sense!

I think it's implied with a ceremony / all day invite. We sent "All day" invites (people invited to the ceremony, wedding breakfast, and party [where evening food will be served]), and then had a different invite for 'evening guests' who were just invited to the party. I think the key is the start time, once there, everyone 'goes with the crowd'.
In short, this is how we structured our invites, if this helps:

Both invites had names and host bit at the top then after that the invites said:

All day (each comma on a new line): 'Invite you to join us as we share marriage vows', Date, Time, Church, Church Address, "Reception to follow at", Reception Venue, Reception Address, Request for RSVP.

Evening: 'Invite you to join us in celebrating our marriage at our evening reception', Date, Time, "at", Reception Venue, Reception Address, Request for RSVP.

    Hope that helps!

We invited all our guests to the whole day. They just get one invite with all the details on.

Think if it as day guest - ceremony and reception

Evening guest - Reception only (usually after the wedding breakfast).

Like you we invited everyone to the Ceremony and reception so we put something along the lines of; "Kirsty and Nick invite you to celebrate their marriage on June 2023....Ceremony Starts at 1pm at (name of Church), followed by a reception at (Reception venue)".

I done pocket fold invites, so one of the inserts had the timings of the day which included; ceremony time, canapes, wedding breakfast, speeches, first dance, dancing start time and reception end time.
