Evening food / blankets

Sorry but I am going to be negative here but from my experience people generally are miserable spoilsports and will not want to be outside if its cold.

Quite often even in summer if its a chilly day - one minute everyone is mingling- relaxing and the next they have all disappeared inside.

During winter weddings when the couple want photos outside because the venue has nice grounds I usually manage it by leaving everyone inside for the drinks and mingling and then get everyone outside in one go for quick group shots. But the poor bride and groom are left waiting outside while people moan and say "Im not going out there its too cold" or they wait until the very last minute - but the thing is they are not the only ones waiting till last and no one ends up moving, meanwhile the couple and the people who were quick to come out are getting cold.

Plus for you in november its going to be dark around 4.30-5pm

Will outside be the only option for the evening? If there’s an inside space you’ll probably find that everyone stays inside regardless of how many blankets you provide.


For the evening food, our venue told us to cater for 75% of total evening guests (day guests plus those that are evening only)

I would save your money and not provide blankets at all. Chances are in November the only people going outside will be the smokers.
