As I think you all know, I'm getting married in Cornwall! It's a journey for all our guests that will require an overnight stay.
We have a small package of 50 people that doesn't include additional evening guests. This might be a fleeting thought that I shut down but it's here so I want to get some opinions... from what I can gather from other posts, adding evening guests isn't super expensive, so I'm starting to wonder if it could potentially be an idea to offer evening invites to help combat some of the draaaamas about who we haven't invited (e.g. extended family, periphery friends). Thoughts?
Things going through my mind are: would this actually cause offense (like you're asking me to come all this way just for the evening?!), is it more hassle than it's worth to figure out costs and get the okay from the venue if it feels unlikely anyone would make the effort, would anyone realistically make the effort and therefore should we just invite the obligations or also the people we would have had if it was a bigger wedding?!
