Evening Wedding Dress??

Jessica, 3 April, 2025 at 10:13 Posted on Wedding Attire 1 10

Hi All,

At the moment I am thinking of having 2 dresses as this would be ideal as we are wanting to do a dance routine. However, my main dress for the big day is a little restricted and would not allow a lot of movement to properly move move.

I would love peoples suggestions on where to get an evening wedding dress from? I love my dress that i have now, but i would hate to ruin/split the dress.

Many Thanks, Jessica x

Hi Jessica! That’s such a fun idea—having two dresses is actually becoming more common, especially when couples plan a dance routine or want to feel more relaxed during the evening part of the day.

Many brides choose a second dress that’s lighter, more comfortable, and easier to move in. You could look for something like a flowy A-line, a short tea-length dress, or even a simple satin slip dress. These types still look elegant but give you lots of room to dance and enjoy your night.

At Sarah Wilson Photography, we’ve seen many brides do a quick change after the ceremony, and it’s always fun to capture that fresh, playful energy in evening photos. Just make sure your second dress still reflects your style and matches the vibe of your wedding.

Shops like ASOS Bridal, Lulus, or even local boutiques often have great evening dress options without breaking the budget. Hope this helps and good luck with your dress search and your dance! 💃

A few suggestions you might want to check out:

ASOS Bridal – surprisingly lovely and affordable options for second dresses.

Needle & Thread – they do stunning embellished gowns that feel special but are comfy to wear.

Revolve or Reformation – both have elegant evening styles that could totally work as a second wedding dress.

    Hello!

Jessica, for a dance-friendly evening wedding dress, explore bridal boutiques (bridesmaid/evening sections), department stores (formal wear), online retailers (ASOS, Lulus, etc. - check returns!), and special occasion dress shops. Prioritize lighter, flowing fabrics, consider shorter lengths or high slits, choose a comfortable style that complements your main dress, and stick to your budget. Good luck finding the perfect dress to dance in!

That’s a great idea! For an evening dress, try bridal shops like David’s Bridal or BHLDN, which offer comfortable, moveable options. You could also check out Rent the Runway for rentals if you want something stylish but less restrictive. Best of luck with your wedding planning!

@ Flicking Soccer It is very normal to want two wedding dresses. Have you tried looking at the wedding dress shops in your city? Surely you will be the most radiant bride on this important day.
