Events manager stress

Ellie, 14 May, 2021 at 19:29 Posted on Planning 0 1
I’m getting married in two weeks and I’ve planned my wedding pretty much by myself. At this point I’m obviously slightly stressed but I’d say I’m keeping it together as best I can. I spoke with my events manager today regarding the food and adding something in. I’m obviously a bit stressed and jittery on the phone, I keep over explaining things for sure but it’s just nerves and I HATE feeling like I’m being high maintenance so I was genuinely being nice. At one point during our conversation she really cut me up and told me I don’t need to explain, as silly as it may sound it really got my back up. Maybe she had a stressful day but she called me after I emailed as I don’t like to think I’m bugging her on the phone. I feel like it’s triggered me to really feel like I just want this all over and done with now rather than excited which I want to be. It’s changed now how I see her and I think I annoy her when I’ve hardly contacted her overall. Not sure if I should just keep my distance from her now but I just wanted to come on here to vent really because I don’t particularly want to ask her anything else. if anyone has not been pleased with their events team but still had a great day ?

If you’re paying the event team for their services then you definitely shouldn’t feel like you’re bothering them or being annoying. You’re the client, and they should be ensuring you feel at ease and have confidence in their abilities to make your day special. However, if this is the first time she’s been a bit short with you maybe give her the benefit of the doubt? She could be really stressed with the covid rule changes etc. Or she might have thought she was comforting you and trying to make you feel at ease, but it just came across different over the phone. I’d keep reaching out whenever you need something or have a query, and don’t worry about being annoying, they should be there to help you.
