Explain Primarche to me

Headless Lois, 16 April, 2009 at 16:05 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 10

Is it to make it sound posher (in an ironic way, of course, like Primarni)? Only to me it sounds like a cross between Primark and Bon Marche, which imo makes it sound more scuzzy, not less.

    ?

I've never unserstood the whole Primarni thing. I just say Primark, althought it's usually in a whisper.

It's to make it sound ironically posher, yes. I have never heard of Bon Marche <sticks fingers in ears>

I call it Pradamark, in an ironic way.

Bon Marche is baaaaaaad, evil happens there.

When I was doing a job which involved our department travelling to the US regularly the boss used to say he was going to Target pronounced as if it was French (ie Tarjay) to make it sound posher.

I've said Primarni for so long it comes naturally, I never use primark anymore...and neither do my friends

Primarche just sounds odd...and cheaper (if you can be cheaper ?)

Hmmm-incredibly cleverly for a techno-phobe like myself, lots of primark ads have appeared at the bottom of the page. How did they know???

The ads generally relate to something in the thread, although it can be a bit random
