Fake or Real?

Crystal, 12 October, 2022 at 23:14 Posted on Planning 0 6
Hi everyone,

For those who’ve sorted out they’re flowers, have you opted for fake or real?
Does anyone know the rough difference in price?

I’ve gone for real but I think artificial are more reasonably price.

I’ve been quoted £1200 for my bouquet, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 11 buttonholes 8 centrepieces for round tables and one long table centrepiece.
    Hope this helps xx

I got a rough idea of artificial flower prices….a medium sized bridal bouquet was about £60, bridesmaids around £30, centrepieces around £50-£60 and some decor items were about £200-£250 to hire. That would amount to about £640-£650.
I am now going for fresh flowers at £850, with more decor, so not much difference in price when you take into account what we are having.
Bear in mind the quality of the artificial flowers. They need to be good quality (I.e more expensive) to look realistic x

    I've gone for artificial.

Moongate flower arch, 1 x bridal bouquet, 3 x bridesmaids bouquets, 9 x buttonholes, 3 x corsarges came to £2,000+ for real or just over £500 for artificial so it was a bit of a no brainer for me!

The artificial flower lady was super knowledgeable and award winning too - I've seen her studio and you honestly couldn't tell they weren't real, she said the real key is in the colours as so many artificial florists use colours that don't naturally occur.

It really depends on what you want. If you are going for flowers that are cheap & easy to grow and are in season, then they will be cheaper than fake ones. If you want out-of-season flowers or ones that are more difficult to grow for the cut flower market, then fake is going to be cheaper. It really boils down to the look that you want and whether having real flowers means a lot to you. For me, it was real flowers or nothing - I'd have bought a supermarket bunch if I couldn't have afforded the one the florist did for me!

I made mine and my bridesmaids bouquet from artificial flowers from TKMaxx as I wanted to gift and display them afterwards. However we paid roughly £100 for 5 buttonholes and 2 corsages, I wanted specific flowers and not roses otherwise I'd have opted for artifical buttonholes instead.

I opted for artificial for a few reasons. One my partner is terrible with allergies and flowers/pollen and two I wanted to keep the forever!
I have ordered mine from groovyruby! I think off the top of my head I paid around £190 for 6 button holes, 3 bridesmaid bouquets, my bridal bouquet and a matching hair combo for my mom!
