Yup he was in Silsden but has moved to Bingley now - I had them done by the same guy but in Bingley so if there's still a tattoist in Silsden then its not the one I went to.
Wow small world - I'm 10 minutes away from Silsden if that. I live in Crossflatts! How about you?
No South Craven as mum and dad lived in Silsden. Sometimes I appreciate being close to town but other times wonder if it would be possible to round up and disperse all the druggies and random weirdies beating each other up outside the bus station!
It looked like this when I got wed in Jan 08. (this is taken in a mirror, so its 'backwards!) I had my first one back in ... oh, a looong time ago and it just grew and grew. But I didn't look after it very well and some of it was looking very sorry for itself, so I decided after I was wed I'd get it 'looked at'.
So begun my quest to find my dream artist who could handle this canvas... and it went from a partial recolour/cover up to a total cover up apart from my first tattoo (the small bird) which remains but has been re-coloured.
Its a long way from being finished, and the last photo is how it looks just now, and is 12 sessions worth.
I also have a celtic thing on my ankle, and a tigerlilly flower on my hip, and another one at the very bottom of my back. My next one after my back is finished will be a funky gecko ... and possibly a refresh of my ankle one... after that - who knows!
I do love my Elfin I must admit! And its a tattoo that could potentially move onto virgin skin if I'm not careful! But to finish the main job I reckon another another 10-12hrs or so (4 sessions) should do it, and then a sesh to go over any colour that has 'sunk' a bit due to the colours underneath to bring it back to life ....
But size isn't everything, the smallest of tattoos can be absolutely fabulous!! But I'd never trust any other artist to come near me now I've found Barry. He rocks. : )
Keep posting pictures then - looking forward to seeing the finished product (although I sense this being something that might not everbe truely finished??)!
Mrs SP, wow that is one amazing cover up! It's stunning! I'm getting a back piece done at the moment, got one more session left in 10 days, will post a pic when I am done. After that am getting a pin-up girl on my leg, and then probably a half sleeve, but after that I want to get a piece on the top of my back covered up, it's one I got years ago that just doesn't look great anymore. It's good to know cover ups can work so well!
Thanks CBear - yes, cover ups can be awesomely brilliant but find an artist who can show you work of previous cover ups they have done as it does take a certain extra something to be able to work on non-virgin skin... even the smallest covers up take skill. Not everyone is willing to do them. Look fwd to seeing your back piece when its done!
Not at all - I know it can be difficult to be 100% happy that your symbols definitely mean what they're supposed to! A girl I went to uni with wrote them for me.
The paper is pretty small and a wee bit tatty, but you can see the symbols clearly!
My email is *************@*******.*** - if you drop me a wee email with your address, I'll popit in the post for you! xx
Wow - that's some good ink you got there! I like the placement of the ones behind your ears, very discreet if you wanted them to be!
Err, possibly slightly personal but I'll ask anyway... How far do the ones on your chest go down? ? They look really cool (the tatts that is! - Am I making this worse for myself? ?)
