Father of the bride gift?

Jennifer, 5 of September of 2021 at 20:43 Posted on Etiquette and Advice 0 3

Hi all

Most weddings I’ve been to have included gifts for the bridesmaids, mother/father of the bride & groom which are given during the speeches. Are you giving gifts to the father of the bride/groom & what are you giving them?

TIA x

I haven't heard of gifts for the Fathers, usually flowers for the mums. If you did want to do something maybe a hip flask or glass, something similar to the ushers maybe?

I've found a wonderful idea for FOTB - hankie with a sewn copy of your handwritten note on it. It's pricey depending on how many words you want to add but it's a lovely keepsake Smiley smile

Since my parents are basically paying for the wedding I will get them a joint gift voucher for a stay in an expensive hotel. I’ve got my florist to do his mum a bunch of flowers as she has had no input whatsoever but couldn't leave her out entirely! His dad is no longer with us. For the BMs I have done gift bags to be on their place setting at the tables.
