favour help....

Mattdonna, 28 May, 2008 at 18:29 Posted on Planning 0 17

I have aftershave balm for the Men and Miniture perfume for the ladies, but I wanted to make tablet to put into the favour boxes with them. (the balm is really big so I have had to buy big boxes for them all)

The problem is Im not sure what to wrap the tablet with - Any Idea's? Ive tried googling "sweet wrappers" but had no luck.

TIA

Tablet should be wrapped in greaseproof paper, folded like you were wrapping a present. Make sure the sheet of paper is big enough so that the ends stay nicely folded under. Not the prettiest thing in the world to use but thats what I have been told is the best way to wrap it.

Thanks sherrie, I wanted to wrap them seperately. Sorry I didnt say that in OP. Would the rolls of Florists Cellophane in Mels link be too thick to wrap individual Tablet pieces?

Or maybe get some stickers printed with your names and wedding date and stick them on the front of the wrapped greaseproof paper? Might just disguise it enough to keep it pretty.

I think it might - I was thinking more of making a sort of bag type affair, though there are some cellophane bags on there.

    What about this?

I have looked on some scottish sites for tablet recipes and they advise to wrap in waxed paper.

Don't hold me to this but I would be suspicious that cellophane (sp?) might make it go a bit funny as tablet has butter (i.e. greasy stuff) in it! plus if it gets a bit warm cellophane doesn't allow for sweating. I would go with waxed paper - you should be able to buy white rather than that brown stuff - try lakeland maybe? Then I would go for the personalised sticker approach! I get my personalised 'made by' stickers to go on cards from flea bay from a shop called harbour cottage - they do weddingy ones too!

    HTH!!

    Ooh, inspiration has hit!

How about muslin?! looks much nicer than greaseproof stuff! put a piece of tablet in the middle of a small piece, bring the corners in and tie with a ribbon to make a pouch type thing...

You could wrap them in waxed paper tie a ribbon around them and seal the ends of the ribbon with either a sticker or for novelty use a wax stamp & personalised seal.

Erm... not sure... it would certainly look funkier though!! it would allow it to breathe better than cellophane but I guess the grease could come through and stain the box... could always place it on a small piece of greaseproof inside the muslin to stop it going through the bottom... I think you would have to experiment...

For your wedding favors, it's a lovely idea to add a tablet to complement the aftershave balm and miniature perfume! For wrapping the tablets, consider using luxury perfume inspired packaging like organza bags, which would match beautifully with the elegant vibe of your favors. If you're looking for something more sleek, parchment or wax paper can give a refined touch while keeping the tablets secure. Another option is clear plastic wrap with a satin ribbon tied at the ends for a delicate finish. These materials would enhance the overall luxurious feel of the favor boxes. Hope this helps, and best of luck with your wedding preparations!
