Favours on the top table

Blinkered, 16 November, 2011 at 22:18 Posted on Planning 0 5

I know this might be a really stupid question, but do you put favours on the top table?!

Where else would you put them???

We had the individual favours at each persons table setting, next to their place name. I guess if you had a sweetie buffet as a favour, then thats where they get their favours from.

    Is this what you mean?

I wonder if the OP means whether to give favours (normally at each place setting) in addition to gifts for bridal party etc. So for us, as favours, for each place including 'top table' (we are having a square table like everyone else), we are giving a small home-grown chilli plant which will double as a name plate, and lollies, which will be in a pot in the middle of each table (ok, ok I know it's a bit random, OH's idea- I like the cost aspect!). Re. gifts, I expect I will provide small token gifts for our 'parents' (complicated step- elements involved) and our kids (who will be our groomsman and CBM, well FG lol) as well, probably flowers, wine, and/or 'personalised' items- engraved glasses/ teddies or some such.

We had individual toblerones with our details on, at each seat. I also put blank cd's around for couples/ families to send photos back to us from digital cameras. We also did the gifts for special participants.

Sorry, I misread and thought you meant do you put the favours on the top of the table!!!

Yes, I had favours for the 'top table' also. Never actually thought of not including them. I did home made chocolates in bride & groom shaped favour boxes, so a few extra wasnt a problem. If I'd had a huge wedding party, or really expensive favours, then maybe dont include them. Depends on your budget.

Thanks for your replies and sorry if I was unclear - I did mean do I put them on the "top table" (i.e. where the bridal party sit) - I just wasn't sure whether that was normal or not. They're not particularly expensive (humemade chutney and flapjack) so I will include all the tables. Thanks for your help.

We'll be doing them for everybody, including ourselves. If all my guests get a cookie, I want a cookie too! ?
