Finally booked our honeymoon!

We have finally booked our honeymoon! We spent longer deciding where we wanted to go than we did where we would get married! We eventually settled on Tanzania and Zanzibar but then my hubby changed job roles so his leave dates etc changed and we had to cancel. Now we have booked for his hirthday in January but have extended the safari from 4 days to 8 in Kenya followed by 5 days in Zanzibar! So it will be honeymoon/late anniversary/30th birthday! Soooo excited!!

Ooh nice! I am v tempted by the Tanzania/Zanzibar combo! Which hotel did you go for in Zanzibar? It looks so beautiful there.

I think the bit I am most excited about is booking the honeymoon!

We went for Fumba beach lodge. It's a bit more secluded as its not on one of the busy beaches but the reviews are really good. We were going to stay at manze camp in Tanzania which looked amazing but instead we're going to multiple national parks and camping! If your looking speak to the Tanzania specialists. They were the ones we were going to book with and their itinery looked amazing. We didn't choose them in the end as Intrepid had the longer safari however the accomodation whilst on safari is more basic where we're going now but then we get the chance to meet the Masai people and have dinner with them. There are so many options there!

Yea we originally wanted it a lot sooner but I guess career comes before holiday haha. I'm hoping to book an over night boat stay with diving etc for his birthday ?

Oh my gosh, sooooo jealous!! A safari is my DREAM honeymoon. You'll have such an incredible time! We're making do with a UK mini-moon, as we're buying a house at the same time as wedding planning....eeek! Come back with lots of pics to show us so I can pretend I was there ?

Ahh that's so exciting! I went on my final placement in uni to Tanzania and spent 8 weeks there. We used to go and spend weekends on Zanzibar, it's paradise! I was doing it on a bit of a budget (hostels and shacks on the beach) so I always said I'll go back one day and do it in luxury! Can't wait to see pictures!
