We are having Sunshine On Leith by The Proclaimers. Much to the disgust of my entire family as they are all Hearts fans and its a Hiberernian football song. Its such a lovely song but it gets bad press because its a football song. It took us ages to decide on because of that but we realised its our day and the meaning of the song is not football related in our eyes.

Sorry must add that it doesnt relate to football, just been adopted as an anthem ?

We had Drowning by the Backstreet Boys.......mainly because im a massive fan and H really likes the song and the words fit etc etc. The link is below, we had alot of lovely comments about the song as alot of people hadnt heard it before.

Thats one of our top choices too seeing as we live in Leith and are getting married in Leith! H2B and me had a rather drunken look through our CD's on Saturday night and drunkenly tried to dance to various songs. Seeing as we had drunk about 2 thirds of a bottle of Absolut Mandarin it was quite amusing. Other top choices included Barry White - My First My Last My Everything, Ten Storey Love Song by The Stone Roses and Yellow by Coldplay (the latter featured us just wandering around in a circle....quite boring really......)

Our first home together was in Leith thats why it means a lot to us, and it doesnt matter how many times I hear the song it still gives me goosebumps.

Our favorite at the moment is You do something to me, by Paul Weller. But I also like I love her everywhere by the Beetles, just think it lacks a bit of depth being an old recording. The Paul Weller one is quite rocky which I think my OH perfers.

Its a really lovely R n B song with great lyrics that i think are really appropriate - H2B is a little worried as to how we would dance to it, but i would quite like a song where we couldn't just go round in a circle.

We are having , up to now Time after time h2b preferes Cindt Lauper version & i prefere Norah Jones version

We`re not having one cos OH says he can`t dance. Hmph-didnt stop him raving for hours on end back in the day....

but might sneak one on him later in the evening-he loves the cover version of wild horses (rolling stones) by the sundays, but I would love the green fields of france as it was mine and my dad`s song, and I`d love to play it in his memory

Kentish- have you thought about trying to track down an acustic/slower version of the song you liked if h2b is worried about speed? We had a similiar dilemma as intially were going to have a song that had too much of a beat so tried to find an alternative version but couldnt. Im sure there would be a Chris Brown slower version around- limewire maybe?
