Flower girls/bridesmaid dress

Hi everyone Smiley smile,


My daughter who will be 6 and my niece who will be 9 when we get married are our little flower girls/bridesmaids. I also have 2 adult bridesmaids. Getting married June 2023.
My daughter wants the ultimate princess dress she is so excited and adamant about it, this has got me thinking about my niece though. Although she will only be 9, she’s currently in size 11-12 clothes and her body shape is broader where my daughter is petite. My question is should they be in the same dress? I’m conscious that a princess style dress might be quite young looking, but I don’t want my niece to have a completely different dress. I don’t think that would be fair to her or look right, they are so close as cousins and I don’t want her thinking my daughter is any more special than she is, I love them both dearly.
What are your flower girls wearing? Do you have any advice. Thanks x

    My two nieces (sisters) are our flowers girls. They’re 10 and 7. I’ve given them a choice of about 5 dresses in different styles and asked them to each choose their favourite. They can match each other or go for different styles. This way they will both be able to choose something like, which is great because they’re very different (the older one is more tomboyish and the younger one is very girly!). Why not pick a few options including the dress your daughter will wear and ask which she’d like?

    I would find a range of dresses in the colour & fabric that you want and then they can have different dresses but still look similar. I agree that a princess dress that is likely to appeal to a girly 6 year old is going to look babyish and unflattering on a stocky 9 year old.

    Hi,

    I'm having a similar problem. I have flower girl / bridesmaids dresses to find for a 5, 7, 8 and 12 yr old Smiley atonished

    I'm planning on picking a colour on JJ's house then buying them a different style so it's suitable for each age and size etc. Little things make a big difference, I saw lovely dress which was fine for the younger girls but would mean the 12 year old wearing a strapless bra which isn't ideal or comfortable for her.

    I had the same problem as my granddaughters are 5, 8 and 11 but the 11 year old is actually taller than me at about 5.3''.
    I decided to but the little ones in flower girl dresses with sasha to match colour scheme and 11 year old will be wear the same as her mum as she fits in a size 6 adult dress from wed2b.

    It is such a mission to find dresses for the bridesmaids. I probably checked 100 different shops i didn't find anything suitable.
