Flower HIBs or anyone else who knows about flowers

AutumnRose, 2 March, 2009 at 12:47 Posted on Planning 0 20

I'm having a dusky pink and cream colour scheme and i saw in a magazine a picture of some amazing roses which were cream with deep pink tips. The would be perfect for my flowers but i can't find exactly the same thing on the internet and wondered if they had a specific name? If anyone has any pics i could use for reference i'd be really grateful.

I've found some that are sort of cream and tinged with pink, or have faded pink on them but the ones i saw were so defined on the tips. They really were beautiful. I've lost the flippin magazine they were in too!!

Also i've not done a huge amount of research into flower prices yet but are these roses more expensive that just plain cream and plain pink? I'm guessing they would be but i thought i might have a mix of cream and pink roses in general and just these unusual ones for my bouquet.

Thanks muchly in advance?

You've had me racking my brain now because it's years since I gave up my shop to do artificial only but there is one just as you describe - pale cream with dark pink edging - and it's on the tip of my tongue! It was very popular for weddings in the 90's and I'm sure it begins with R .. . Regale, regalia or something? If you bounce for Marilyn or By George, they will be able to tell you straightaway!

Hi there - I've never used them for wedding work, but I do have a lovely pink and cream bicolour rose in the garden called double delight. They might be a bit too pink if you're going for dusky pink though, but it's worth a look!

Thanks for that, i'll look into them.

Do you think they would be possible to get hold of for wedding work?

I have them in a magazine at home! But it's driving me mad because I can't think of the name. Will post later when I find it out, but for now this may help: http://www.everyrose.com/everyrose/roses/search.lasso

I dont think they still do the one I was thinking of - it was very much like Luxor on the above link.

    Is it any of these:

    Honore de Balzac

    Illusion Rose

    doorsturen naar

It sounds like IIlusion roses but they are really hard to get hold of, an alternative would be Mrtallina.

That's fantastic guys, thanks so much for the replies!!!

Sherrie the illusions ones are almost exactly the right colour at the tip....those ones in the bottom bouquet are absolutely gorgeous!!! i think the are slightly less defined than the ones i saw originally but they would be perfect for me!! Those are called Mrtallina???

I'm having cream roses with a pink edge and my florist told me they were called dolce vita roses.

    Are these them?

Ooh la la - I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them, a bit of colour without being too overpowering.

I think dolce vita's are easier to get hold of than illusion roses but they aren't as duskier pink. i had a similar colour theme and used sweet avalanche roses with dusky pink peonies, they looked amazing! xx

Yep - dolce vita are the one's I was thinking of too! They are lovely, and the more common of the two-tone roses in pink.
