Flowers!

Kirsty, 4 July, 2024 at 16:48 Posted on Planning 0 4
Hi! In the midst of planning my May 2025 wedding and my god flowers are expensive! I completely get why but is there way to keep costs down?? We’re getting married in the church on site so need something that can go there and move to the wedding breakfast room after. I’ve looked at various florists all differing in pricing and I’ve looked at the faux route which is just as expensive if not more. HELP! my head is fried!

It will help keep the costs down if you are more flexible about the type of flowers you have - that way, the florist can just use whatever is cheapest to order at that time. I found a florist whose work I loved, showed her what I and my OH were wearing and asked for colours that would go well with that! She used a load of in-season stuff, some of which came from her own garden, and it worked beautifully.

Alternatively, I've been to weddings where the bride and bridesmaids have used supermarket flowers - either a bunch or a single stem (lily or gerbera) - with just a ribbon round them.

Or you could pay a professional florist to do the bouquets and buttonholes and then either DIY the venue decorations or again, look at using bunches of supermarket flowers.

Does the church have a flower team? We are meeting ours next week and are going to ask if they can repurpose flowers to the venue and also do bouquets/ buttonholes etc. They are not professional florists so I imagine they'll be cheaper Smiley smile

Do you want real or artifical flowers? The latter are easier to transport

It depends if you want real or artificial. We're having all artificial for our wedding
I've actually bought mine and my bridesmaids flowers from The Range, cost me £40
My cousins gonna arrange them into bouquetsOur ceremony guests are having buttonholes and Corsages, and my stepdaughters are both flower girls, they'll be having wands
You can still have beaut flowers without breaking the bank
    Congratulations ❤️
