Foam flowers

RomanticPurpleFlowers233, 9 November, 2014 at 19:50 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hi, my first time on this forum so hoping your'll all be able to help.

I've already decided on having foam bouquet for my wedding, I've had a few friends tell me to look on eBay and I've seen some sellers who have good feedback, I also found on google 'the brides bouquet.co.uk' they prices seem reasonable but if difficult to know if they are a good seller. Has any used this company or could they recommend anywhere?

Thanks

I haven't actually ordered my flowers yet but I have been in conversation with the brides bouquet and they have been really helpful. I keep changing my mind about what I want but they are always really helpful and offer some great ideas within my budget. I would be interested to know if anyone has used them as I am close to ordering :-)

Hi - I'm a retired florist and have used artificial flowers for years . Basically the difference between foam and other artificial flowers is that foam ones tend to be sold in bunches and have short stems whereas the more realistic artificial flowers are sold singular. This means that they are mainly suitable for hand-tied bouquets and not really practical for larger more elaborate designs such as shower bouquets. Because they are foam rather than man-made materials like other artificial flowers, then do get dirty quite quickly so be careful if you are buying them yourself to look for dirty marks as they attract dust very easily when being stored on shelves in the wholesalers or wherever you get them from. Whilst the flowers themselves are fairly good quality, the stems aren't brilliant and do look quite false in colour i.e., a lot of the stems are grey rather than green and the leaves are unrealistic compared to other artificial flowers but if you want a compact bouquet with no foliage showing, then they are OK for this type of design.

Another point to watch out for is because they are made in such large quantities, you really have to pick and choose through the bunches to make sure you get ones which are perfect. A lot of them have foam coming away from the centres and sometimes the wires stick through the stems.

Basically the golden rule with artificial flowers is very much that you get what you pay for and there are a whole range of different flowers that are used for weddings in a wide price bracket. If you want to be absolutely sure of the quality, it is best to order a buttonhole before you commit to ordering. This way not only do you get to see the quality of the flowers but also the workmanship of the florist too.

    or sample first.

Hi ladies , we got married on the 17th October and I had foam flowers from The Brides Bouquet. I didn't want to spend a lot on flowers and wanted artificial so I had something to keep. I was really pleased with the result and they can do so many different things. Everything went smoothly , order process was simple and the flowers gorgeous. I would recommend them. I've attached a picture of the flowers all together and one of us on the day so you can see the effect. The pictures don't really do them justice.
I had a teardrop bouquet , 3 adult bridesmaids , a cake topper and button holes. These were slightly different for groom, grooms Mum etc.

Hope this helps , happy planning :-) x
