Foam or silk flowers?

*Ducky*, 30 January, 2012 at 14:14 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hi Ladies,

I have decided on a cream/ivory tulip bouquet for myself, and a smaller version for my BMs. Can you recommend which looks better, foam or silk flowers?

I will send for a sample when I have decided, but thought I'd ask for any advice first.

Thank you!

To be honest, I've never seen foam tulips. The foam flowers tend to be roses sold in bunches. There are some very realistic tulips in artificial - more realistic than foam if that helps.

By artificial, do you mean silk?

I have a silk sample and was very impressed with it. If you recommend silk for tulips I will take your advice. You said in another post you are booked up for this year so I can't have you Smiley sad Would you have any other recommended companies? You can PM if you prefer.

    Thanks for your help,
    Sammi

Yes, they are generally known as 'silk' but are made in lots of different man-made materials these days so some are made from fabric type material and some are latex. I still have space for Oct, Nov, Dec this year but if your wedding is before then, you could try Sherrie or ByGeorge on here. Hope that helps.

    Hi

There are no foam Tulips as far as I know (have looked at manufacturer's catalogues's!)

There are some very realistic ones as Brenda says in Silk:

I have some availability but am booking fast. This year is manic!

Thank you all. My wedding is in July and I will only be requiring my bouquet and one for by BM - not a whole venue decoration!

Thank you Sherrie, I 'll have a look at your page in a min.

    Hi there,

I agree with both ladies that you can get some great silk tulips and they look ....i've not seen foam ones- only foam roses as rainbow said!

A compact tulip bouquet would look great with grass and grass loops in it!

If you need any help feel free to contact me

    Good luck xx
