Foodies - help me with a walnut alternative?

I'm going to be making Delia Smith's Parmesan Coated Fish with Walnut Romesco Sauce and I've only gone and forgotten the bloody walnuts! ? As luck would have it, for dessert, I'm making Delia's Four Nut Chocolate Brownies (both recipes from her Winter Collection book) and so I have pecans, hazelnuts, macademias and almonds.

Could I substitute any of those for the walnuts and would it work?

Any advice would be greatly received. ?

    Pecans may be ok, although they are a little sweeter than walnuts.

    I wouldn't serve nuts followed by nuts ?

    Anyway, going back to the nuts issue, Platty has suggested pecans. Any advance on pecans?

    I'd do a different sauce, I think. Avoid the nut/nut issue too.

    Well I need to make the brownies now so I'll crack open all the packets, do a taste test and see what I think works best. I am useless. ?
