France Wedding

clairesyod, 18 November, 2015 at 21:52 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 2

Hello,

My Fiance and I are hoping to marry in France in August 2016. We like the idea of a rustic chateaux with a family friendlily atmosphere. I'm realising very quickly that a lot of the venues are booked up for 2016, does anybody have any hidden gems that don't appear readily in a google search? Our preferences is Bordeaux region.

    Hello,

We are getting married in a really beautiful place in Annepont France called Le Petit Moulin. We looked at around 10 venues in total and just fell in love with this place as it is really quirky, super friendly, relaxed yet very professional and could fit all of our 90 guests (unless things change our side)

We are getting married there in July 2016, no idea whether they have availability in August but worth a look.

Our Wedding planner is a lady called Jenny and she is fantastic so may be worth sending her a message.

Good luck and let us know where you end up booking.

    Hello

Firstly, fanatic idea. I love destination weddings. Small select beautiful. France is a great option as well as its just oozing with the romance cheese and wine! I shot a lovey wedding this summer in Chateau De Fayolle. It's in Dordogne region so not a million miles away. They are a English coulple that are lovely. The site is www.chateaudefayolle.com you can see some of the images from it on my website www.thomasfrostphotography.com if you have any questions please let me know.

Best set wishes and good luck.

    Tom

Hi Claire, French weddings are the best - I got married (to a French girl) nearly seven years ago in Tours Sur Loire, which is right in the middle of France - chateaux territory... just awesome! Bordeaux will give you reliable weather and beautiful scenery! The hardest thing for us was organising where all my english friends and family would stay, and there's a bit of paperwork you need to obtain too. You obviously can't get officially married in a Church (thanks to the revolution) without a town hall ceremony first... and you might need a translator if the Maire doesn't speak English... but don't let any of this put you off - it's all very doable! Have you managed to find anywhere yet? Best, Mark.
