Hello everyone, Just wondering if anyone had or is planning to have a free bar at any point of their wedding reception. OH and I have got a budget and said that whatever is left in the budget will go towards a free bar. Had anyone else thought of doing this or something similar? Debbi x

    No free bar for us, just something we never budget for. I think if we have any money left over .... isnt looking likely though ... we will pay for drinks during dinner as i know some people wont want the wine on the tables.

    We've arranged for a free bar in the evening with our caterers for £8.50 + VAT per person and this includes everything, i.e. branded spirits, local beers, etc. We bit their hands of when they offered us this as we wanted to have a free bar but were afraid of how much it would set us back as we have no idea how much people would drink.

    We're having a free bar, and free transport from local hotels. All our family guests are travelling a long way and we don't want the wedding to be an expense or inconvenience to them, so we're covering their expenses.

    Our budget is tiny for other things that most people more on, so it evens out.
