Fruitrian and weight loss?

chai0304, 28 April, 2012 at 08:37 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 3

So Ive just started being a fruitarian. Im not eating meat, or vegetables, or pastas.. basically eating fruit and that's it. So im not counting calories, im just eating fruit and drinking fruit juice/water till im content. (which I know isn't that much) I realize im most likely not reaching the daily amount of calories i should be getting but o well. So I was just wondering how much weight I could lose in a month.? Im 150 pounds and would love to be around 100. Im 5'7" and used to burn around 600 calories 5 times a week (at the gym) I would like to get back on that routine but will probably end up only burning about 300 day. So how long do you think it would take to reach my weight loss goal of 100 pounds.? thanks Smiley smile (btw ive been anorexic and bulimic for a long time, so don't say this isn't healthy because it's a lot more healthier compared to eating nothing, don't u think?)

Hmm i read the above post, I would just say that vegetable and meal is equally important to that of fruits. Fruits is not the only thing through which you would lose weight. Yes, but there are certain vegetables which one must include in their daily diet and there are other that must be taken in light proportion. The most important thing is regularity in exercise, its the most most important to be done for losing weight.

Granted, eating fruit is better than eating nothing but all the acids and sugars in fruit will do your teeth and bowels no good at all if not balanced with something else.

Also, at 5'7" and 150lbs, you're not at all what I would call overweight. In fact according to the NHS website you're bang in the middle of healthy. For your height, you should be between 8.5 and 11.5 stone. If you wanted to get to 100lbs (7st 2lbs), you would be well into their underweight range.

I hope that you get on well with the fruit, but gradually you so need to start getting some more variety into your diet, even if you don't want to eat meat then try some beans, lentils, chickpeas, tofu or quorn, and some veggies as well as the fruit.

Good luck and take care Smiley smile x

Would the sugar content in the fruit outweigh any exercise you do, I've been told that to lose weight you shouldn't eat much fruit after lunch because of the sugar
