Fun / different things at your wedding

Becki, 4 February, 2021 at 15:11 Posted on Planning 0 11
Hi

I like the idea of doing a few different things at our wedding , I wondered if anyone had any cool wedding favour ideas ( reasonably priced)
Also any ideas what to get the bridesmaid and I don’t really want wine glass / candle etc
Also has anyone arranged anything fun/ different for the evening - we r thinking a selfie mirror ?
All ideas welcome

This isn’t really a favour, but I was at a wedding a couple of years ago where they had a glitter bar, with all the stuff you needed to glitter your face and it was amazing. Looked really cool in photos too xx

I've donated to the Dog's Trust for my wedding favours (they send you cute pins you can give out in return) https://www.dogstrust.org.uk/get-involved/wedding-favours/

Yep I have seen these at weddings and also caner ones - I expect that a lot of charities do similar.

On the favour front what about making your own slo gin - fun - personal and low cost. BUT check with your venue as some may be a little uncomfortable of you supplying alcohol.

As for "different" and magic mirrors - they have been going for a while - it will depend on how many weddings you have been to recently as to how many you have come across - they are kind of the "new photo booth"

Bridesmaids --- quite often I have seen that on the morning of the wedding as you are getting ready the bride would give the present then and it is perhaps a necklace or somthing that matches the brides and so that you all match on the day. I know because I usually get the heads up from the bride that she is going to give them something.

It depends on how different you want to be! I went to a wedding a couple of years ago that had an animatronic dinosaur, comedy waiters and a bucking bronco...

One of my favourite weddings sent people off with a lil scone picnic and had a lot of carnival games (and a lot of booze - turns out one of my friends' dates was a bartender and she had skills!) They also gave away preserves as favours (and our welcome drink was mixed for us by the bride and groom as soon as we arrived which was just such a lovely touch!)

I'm wondering about some sort of games (maybe a giant jenga set?) in between the ceremony and reception...

Love the idea of make your own sloe gin sets!

Ours will be small, both on numbers and budget) but I still want some nice little touches to make it feel special. I was browsing today and found you can get stamps for making wax seals designed for you (such as your initials or even a picture you have designed yourself). I was thinking of it for invitations, but then maybe also little paper bags filled with heart sweets and sealed with your unique wax seal.

    Hi Becki,

For wedding favour ideas, I would think about what you both like as a couple and how you can incorporate that into a favour. I would recommend items that people would want to keep or use. Personalised favours with your names on etc don't tend to be kept for very long. Favour ideas could be a sample of your favourite type of drink, or food item. For example, I love cider and chocolate. So I could include a cider tasting pot and a chocolate box.

If you are an eco conscious couple I would maybe suggest a packet of seeds which people can take home with them.

For your bridesmaid I would again think more about what that bridesmaid likes? Maybe jewellery, a handbag, engraved compact mirror?

I used to work in event entertainment so I know a lot of cool unique ideas out there. There are so many ideas of ways you can make it fun and different. As standard, I would recommend a DJ and a band if you can afford it. Selfie mirrors are great, but what about gif photo booths? See if you can have a walkaround photo opportunity instead of a photo booth. Other ideas include flair bartenders, LED jugglers, silent disco headphones, bandeoke is also quite fun. There's so many options out there! You just need to delve more into your personalities and what you like.

    With Love,

Our wedding theme is rustic. So I have ordered wild flower seeds and they come in a cute little brown packet with mine and my partners name and the date we get married they are lush
