Garter & ‘tosser’???

No idea but I want to know if you find out!

Go on then --- tosser is the photographer who thinks it makes a good shot to get the groom to pull the garter down and off with his teeth.

Assuming this isn't a very delayed April fool's joke...

At a guess, might it be a spare so that you can throw one for the garter toss and keep the other? Might be a bit more tasteful to throw one that hasn't been worn by the bride - I find the whole garter toss thing seriously creepy, and that might make it fractionally less 'yuk'!

It's an American tradition, and I think (apologies to any fans of it) that it's super creepy. Basically, toward the end of the reception, the bride goes into the centre of the dance floor and the groom burrows under her skirts to remove her garter while everyone wolf whistles etc...he then throws it into a crowd of single guys who fight to catch it. It's a kind of parallel to the bouquet toss for single girls, but it's always left me feeling queasy when I've seen it done.
