Gay Wedding

Hey Steven, don't have an answer for you but I'm in the same boat (though opposite sex!) so joining this thread to see if you get an answer. 'groom attire' is a whole section not relevant for us, and a bit dispiriting to have our relatively unusual set up continually highlighted.


Having the option to name it Partner 1 & Partner 2 or to rename as 'Louise's attire' and 'NAME'S attire' would be preferable, so hoping someone will say there's a way.

Unfortunately I think this an area Hitched need to look at as I don't see a way of setting as same sex marriage.

The only thing I can see is there is an option to delete the not relevant tasks in the checklist and create your own ones that suit you.

Certainly is something that should be looked at.

I know Hitched are trying hard to be inclusive in other areas of the app; but this seems like a pretty basic ask!
Would love to see if the Hitched team pick this up and refine the app to include this.

I came here for the same reason, though like Louise could do with another Bride section in place of the Groom. Seriously Hitched, is it so hard to implement?! This COULD be the most useful tool for everyone, but at the moment it’s just another reminder that the wedding world is just hugely heteronormative.

Tricky though, as my bride doesnt want dress fitting options, as shes opting for a suit, but an option of person 1 and person 2 would be fab. Same for the traditional wedding planners; they all say Mr and Mrs!!

Hey! 👋 Another gay couple here; both women but only one of us wearing a dress; not sure yet though. We definitely need some gender options for couples at the very least. Very frustrating.

Agreed, we are both in dresses, M has hers so I could tick that iff but I haven't got mine yet!


Good to find out from this thread that you can delete tasks though, we couldnt have an engagement party due to the rona, love having that pointed out to me everytime I check my list!

Yep, making those titles editable would bea really easy way to make this more inclusive.

Noticed Hitched have just changed their logo to 🌈 for pride month. Lovely bit of rainbow washing without making basic features of their core product inclusive for LGBTQ+ couples 🙄
