Gazebo colour - does it matter AT ALL?!

SouthB2B, 26 April, 2011 at 13:06 Posted on Planning 0 11

So... I'm hoping you can either tell me I'm being totally OTT and it's not a problem - or let me know whether you'd be at all bothered too - about the colour of our gazebo. Yes, I know, it's the most trivial thing in the world!!

We're having (if the weather is nice) drinks outside our reception (rural, converted barn) and so need a little gazebo to put the drinks table in. In my mind this had always been a white gazebo but my parents sent me a pic of a gazebo they own which I don't think has ever even been used - it's in great condition. But it's green! Now when I first saw it I thought maybe this was an issue and we should hire a white one. Now I'm thinking I sound ridiculous and who cares if it's green - the grass it'll sit on is green anyway. But it's just niggling me a little bit...should it be white (our bridesmaids are in a pastel blue FYI).

So what do you think - green gazebo, don't be so dumb and save the ££s, no one will notice; or hire a white one so it's more weddingy? Here's a pic for you (not the actual gazebo but pretty similar):

Thanks in advance! x

I would say no, it doesn't matter a jot! Save the stresses for the important things ?

I would spend a fortnight agonising over the colour and possibly having a little tantrum about it being green, then I'd forget all about it and decide the colour doesn't matter! At least that's what I've done with the chairs at our venue and my 'to cover, or not to cover' dilemma.

The green is fine. I can't imagine anyone noticing. May as well save a bit of cash!

I dont think it would matter as green will blend into the colour of outside but if it is irking you Argos do gazebos and they have one in cream half price at the mo http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6502777/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CGarden+and+DIY%7C14418702/c_2/2%7C14418702%7CGarden+furniture%7C14418853/c_3/3%7Ccat_14418853%7CGazebos+and+garden+awnings%7C14418856.htm

Depends how stretched for cash you are. Like other say, if it is bugging you then get one you do want. If you need to save some dosh, how about decorating the gazebo itself in some way with flowers/bunting/ribbon etc etc more in tune with your own colours. Not sure people will be looking at the colour, prob more interested in the drinks under it! It's just knowing yourself well enough to decide how much it bothers you!

Personally i don't think it matters but if it really bothers you, £40 for the one Naboo suggested is pretty good!

I'd say it really doesn't matter. We're going to have gazebos too (for outdoor toys for the kids) and then another for the hog roast. Both will be green and if I'm honest I hadn't even thought about the colour. Just guess I don't have the same attention to detail as you SouthB2B.

Thank you all ladies, really helpful - I think you are right, it's going to bug me so may as well spend a little on it and then have a nice white gazebo to keep too after! I think I thought it was just me getting totally OTT but as some of you also agree that's helped make my mind off. Off to look at Naboo's link now, that looks like a massive bargain thank you!! x

Ah perks of being a Shamen!!

No worries SouthB2B, we have the green one and got it from there and it does the job fine, the cream one looks good the as it has 2 removable walls so if the wind picks up you can put them in to shelter what you have inside too
