Gel FX nails vs Shellac?

4 January, 2012 at 12:59 Posted on Planning 0 1

What a boring post I do apologise!?

I had shellac done on my nails for my hen and although I loved the finish it completely ruined my nails. I normally have nice, no mainteance nails and it made them thin and weak.

Was wondering if anyone has tried gel fx and if it's any nicer to nails?

Thanks!

Unfortunately any gel that you apply to your nails will have the same effect. Its the nature of the way the gel works. When gel is removed from the nails it takes a few layers of the natural nail with it, therefore making the nail weak and thin.

However using a good conditioning nail polish like OPI's Nail Envy and plenty of hand moisturiser on the nails after removing the gel can help them to recover much quicker.
