Hi!

My fiancé and I have been together 6 1/2 years and are only recently engaged. We think it’ll be a few years until we finally have a wedding but would like to be prepared.
I know it must sound silly but we are absolutely lost just thinking about the planning. Where do we start?
Any advice, big or small is most appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Congratulations on your engagement and welcome!
I'd say the most important thing is to set a budget, as that will help you to keep everything organised.
Discuss what sort of wedding you would both like for example would you want to be married in a church with a reception elsewhere? or a country house/registry office/hotel/social club or a destination wedding somewhere else?
Do you want a big wedding or something more intimate? what sort of numbers are you looking at having? these are all important things to know ahead of time so that when the real planning begins (Looking at venues etc) you have a clear vision in your mind of what you do and don't want.
I personally found the above a great starting point.
