Gift Ideas - Best Man

saz71, 15 October, 2008 at 08:37 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi all

I've not been on here much lately but am now back in full planning mode as our wedding is on 28th December. Just thinking about gifts for various people and wondered if you can share your ideas for gifts for the best man. H2B has no clue so thought I'd get some ideas and then let him make the final decision! Not sure we want to go down the route of cufflinks or hip flask so any unusual ideas welcomed.

TIA

H2B wants to give pocket watches (suppose these are along the lines of cufflinks and hip flasks). Not got a clue why, but he's got the idea in his head. I think he wants to get them engraved too. Not sure he's had much luck finding any though. HTH

We've got ours leather wallets, engraved with a message on the inside. I was pleasantly surprised by them actually, they look quite good so hope best men like them! H2B chose them...I wouldn't have had a clue what to get them!

Also, bit more unusual, at a wedding we went to earlier in the year they got the best man a signed guitar ?fret? from his favourite band...other memorabilia like that might be an idea if your best man is really into something in particular e.g. band, tv show?

Or an experience day - 4x4 driving or tank driving or something along those lines? Depends how much you want to spend really.

I'm looking for ideas as well.

We're getting married on the best man's birthday, so we want to get him something really special!

I keep telling Iain to get his thinking cap on, but he's a bloke so obviously can't think of anything!

If it was left to him, probably they'd all just get gift vouchers! Sigh!

We did pocket watches too - have a look at Dalvey, they do some nice ones. Only problem was, H2B took a friend out with him to pick the pressies, then the BM had to bail out at the last minute and said friend had to step in....my OH still insisted on giving him the pocket watch even though he'd helped to pick it for the original best man!!
